Used from Matt... already talking bout it... but wondering if there is a better transmission option for an automatic and 231 case...

From what I've read the the AW4 is a great tranny behind the 4.0L, but heat is a real killer! Put in another and then a tranny cooler and a gauge.

also replaced that CRAPPY warn plug with a new water tight plug for my wireless setup... now I have a working winch again!
Also installed my 100+ foot cable
can you see my jeep back there???

Put on rear brakes, had to make a hard decision to attach the lower spring to the self adjuster thingy,as opposed to hooking it directly to the Other brake shoe.Worried its hooked to the right place.Seems it should hook to both shoes connecting them, but they had one end of the spring going to the clasp adjuster piece thingy,so thats where i hooked it to.
Then drove it around the yard an hour then tried adjusting E-brake but one cable seems to be binding and doesnt retract all the way causing a slight drag. .....Put it back in teh garage, had enough for one day. Anyone know for sure exactly where that bottom spring hooks to on drum brakes?

had to take da lizard to the alternator shop. We were going to use a 120 amp cause the owner checked and it was supposed to be a direct fit. an hour of trying to fit it in later I told him to just switch to the 90 amp so I could get home after work. Found out that to fit the 120 you have to modify the brackets by grinding. Now will go to the JY and get a spare set of brackets so I can get a 120 amp and do the modifications pre install but it will now have to wait since the shop charges were 233 total. sure wish the books had mentioned that modification was needed.

Drove it to base to shoot the M16 today... and on my way home it randomly decides to show that it is overheating on the gauge... but yet after starting to drive, it reads back down where it is supposed too... then it reads fine all the way home whether I'm driving or stopped at a light... I am guessing that my temp sensor is going stupid... at least that will be my first change out..

Well my jep got LOTS of attention yesterday... so much in fact that I had to wait til today to post it all
first off yes it FINALLY got a water pump replacement... though when I removed the old one it seemed to be in proper working order :hmmmm2:
oh well Also replaced a tranny line and lower radiator hose in the same movement...
Later I decided it was time to finaly wire in the rear doors again since the doorless conversion
got some "build your own" plugs at a local computer store
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG372.jpg
these get stripped ends
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG370.jpg
this plug is for the dome light... when your doors are off just unplug this one and the dome light wont turn on
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG371.jpg
and there you have it!
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG373.jpg
then moved on to the light installation for my roof rack... summers coming fast and night wheelin is a MUST
so I scrounged up these lights that I stockpile at my house since they aer DIRT CHEAP at $14 a pair and metal housing with glass lense the heat of the lights wont hurt em any
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG374.jpg
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG375.jpg
then again I got two pieces of unistrut from my recycle collection and went to measuring
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG376.jpg
one side mounted up
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG377.jpg
other side finished
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG378.jpg
but at this point I didnt like the gaps between them so I moved the inside ones outboard a little bit
http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m590/XJ4IV/IMG379.jpg
so here are the details, the outer ones that are standing on their sides are 100 watt PIAA bulbs and I can rotate those 180 degrees fairly easily.
the others are all 55 watt northern tool specials however if looking closely at them the upper row of light point slightly upwards and the lowers point slightly downwards.
I have to go buy a few bolts today and a heavy duty switch for them and I should be good to go late today!

Yep as bigjeepbigjeep said, I busted my radiator. Waited for my "buddy" for 3 hrs, and never got a hold of him. Limped it to the walmart around the corner, and waited for my wife to get off work at 7. Wife went home grabbed my tow bar, then ran out of gas on the way. Her dad brought her some gas, and she was on the road again. She gets with in 10 miles from me, and the damn road is closed cause of a tornado that went through. Well she finally finds a way around comes and picks me up. Just now got home at 10:30, busted my rad at 3pm. shittyest day wheeling ever.

How does one do that where do u get the wire and what info does it provide I just got a srt8 grand Cherokee and want something that could record 0-60 times and things of that nature thanks

download "torque" from the android market... then you gotta get the Bluetooth OBDII ... I found a few on eBay but the cheapo ones dont last very well, you need to opt for the 90$ one! I know what your thinking "might as well get a real scanner" but with the bluetooth setup you can do more than the scanner can!

The trail is one of those runs where you come up to a tree line, pick two trees you think you can fit through, then when your past those, you do the same thing for the next 2kms up and down hills. They call it The SWB (short wheel base) for a reason, I also folded in the sheetmetal from my drivers mirror, apparently it doesn't pivot like the pass side.

Buddy behind me in a TJ couldn't understand how i was squeezing around the 90deg corners, cause he had to reposition multiple times and my heep just kept slipping through.

Finally got around to replacing the serpentine belt. Wanted to do it when I did my water pump last week, but oh well. It's amazing how many little problems can be fixed by just replacing that belt. Idles better, runs cooler, and alternator is running almost 14 volts now.

then I re-worked the gears on Texj's XJ... the installer put WAY too much torque on the carrier bearing caps thus making the wheel VERY resistant to rotation. all in all his XJ should be GREAT and pretty much unstoppable with front n rear lockers and 4.56 gears
Also we went to freebirds for a bite to eat and I noticed they had a little thing where people make sculptures out of foil .... my creativity got a little carried away so I created this

Haha! I know... I'm finally getting the lights I wanted and will be marking up and for drilling and install tonight.
On another note... Do you want a BFG AT 30x950 spare? It's down to the tread indicators on the white wall side but is just fine otherwise, just had it unmounted today.

Received and installed the vacuum gauge and Viair air pressure gauge. The vacuum gauge is hooked up but I don't have anything for the air pressure gauge yet. I got it mainly to fill the hole in the a-pillar pod. :D

The Sun vacuum gauge isn't zeroed so now I get to see about returning it and getting a replacement. It does work it's just about 5 off.

Installing the pod the other day I shorted out some of the wires running from my over head switchbox, so I fixed that while I was working there.
