Took about 2" of lift out of my MJ. Just installed XJ shackles in rear (shorter) and swapped in my RE 3.5" front springs instead. Was having a little trouble with my leg and back getting in and out at 5.5". Still doesn't look bad I don't think.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160325/03348041cdf288ddcbb9e83d3735b619.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160325/5ff5c2b60ecc817876000da83e20f2b6.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160325/35f55e067ee139f50dc6ede8585cdceb.jpg

Ok, my gas tank armor is on. I used the JCROffroad plate. Very nice piece. 3/16th inch steel. Free shipping. Ordered it in bare metal, and painted it at home. Bolted up with no issues. Removing my old bumper wasn't bad. Only had one rusty bolt that broke, and had to cut it off. Posted some pictures on instagram @epicbeerrider now I have to get my rear bumper. Anyone have the Smittybuilt rear bumper w/tire carrier? Any issues with it?

Yup, you can upload your pics to photobucket, google photos, and I think Amazon has a photo cloud for its prime members...

What I usually do is find the image I want to use, right click on it and select "open image in new tab", then copy the image URL in the address bar.

Once you've done that, type [ img ] then past the image's URL, then [ /img ] (without the spaces).

So basically this....

I don't think so. This is on the WK BTW. Still a possibility, but I couldn't drive passed a mud puddle without hitting it. Bigger tires yanked it out of alignment with a quickness. Just hope I didn't put bad wear on the tires too early to hurt their longevity. They're on the back now so we'll see

I was kinda wondering about that. Definitely looks heavy. But then again, their stuff is really durable too, so in their case heavy is a good thing.... but my rear springs are not heavy-friendly lol

Still getting my Jeep ready for the beach vacation. Changed front and rear diff fluid, put on new steering wheel, and yanked out the headliner. I have tube doors, no carpet, and waterproof seat covers, so i figured whats the point of trying to save the headliner. Also added a kill switch. Since the beach im running is 65 miles one way and you have to stay in 4lo most the time, im taking extra fuel on a hitch cargo carrier. I hate how they rattle so I solved the problem. I know they make pieces for this, but my fix cost $0. I drilled and tapped 3/8" holes on the bottom and both sides of the hitch. Snugged em down so the hitch doesnt move the locked em place with a nut. works good.

Its Padre Island National Seashore. Its a non-maintained, non-inhabited, 4x4 only stretch of beach that starts on north padre island. Once you get to the end you can see south Padre Island but due to a ship channel you cant actually get there. Supposedly a ship sank in that area many years ago that had a load of gold coins on it. Your supposed to turn them in immediately if you find any.....yeah right. Went camping out there once. Was out there for 3 days and never saw another person.

My wife was working in Mcallen for a few months a couple of years back. I flew down every few weeks, and we went to South Padre every time. I love it down there. I wish i would have had my old Jeep down there, i was jealous watching all the guys drive up the beach while i was in my wifes car :bang:

But the sights were nice, and the deep sea fishing wasnt bad either!

This is as far as we got. We were bummed that the road was closed

Swapped the center console brackets out of my '92 with the brackets from the '96 parts jeep I have. MUCH tighter now. Can't believe they use shorty Phillips head screws for the brackets in '92.

Also swapped in the e-brake handle from the '96 as well... Somehow during the process, my brake cable on the driver's side SHORTENED. Seriously contemplating the dual e-brake handle mod that Detour on CF did... poor man's locker ;)

AND, a few months back I went sensor-replacement crazy. Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention and ordered the SMP T-Series on some of the sensors. Immediately returned the MAP sensor because it was so faulty that my fuel pump wouldn't even work. Come to find out, I also have a t-series AIT sensor... I swapped the original one back in and the Jeep actually seems to be running a little better. We'll see.

... noisy, clattering, banging, bloody things ..

I just welded some beads on the hitch and ground 'em down for a snug fit ... until I get round to refurbishing the hitch and wheel carrier assy.

A single 3/8 or 1/2 bolt in the bottom is usually adequate.

Enjoy your quiet hitch ..,

Nothing exciting this week, just pulled, painted, and wired the overhead console with some LED pads, the stock bulbs were noticeably scorching the headliner.
Picked up a near new TJ front sway bar to swap out my rusted to near nothing current one on the XJ.
And modded the fog circuits so I can now turn the "fogs" on with my Hi beams. I wired a pair of 6" light bars onto the circuit a while back.

Ever since we bought my girlfriend's TJ, our coffee cups have never been secure in the cup holders. I would have to hold my cup going around any type of turn or acceleration. Apparently there is supposed to be rubber insert in there that stops this from happening. Looked around on the internet for this insert and the cheapest I could find it was $40!!! Couldn't bring myself to spend $40 on a stupid little piece of rubber that sits in a cup holder so I whipped this up last night. Basically just made a cardboard template of the bottom of the cup holder, transferred this over to a piece of 1/8'' plate, then cut out a piece of 14G (I think) and bent and welded it around the bottom. Cut slits in it and bent them out slightly to better fit the shape of cupholder. Fits snug so it doesn't rattle around and I didn't have to hold my coffee mug this morning. Not the prettiest welds but it does the job.

Looked out my home office window at it... Going to head out in just a few to start her up, and start looking more into how I'm going to route the wiring for the lights/accessories to the engine bay from the cab... most of it will be the wiring for the switches, but will need to run wires for the pillar pods as well.. so we'll see what I can figure out routing wise.. So glad the weather is starting to finally warm up (even if it is hit or miss)

Passenger side very top corner of the firewall there is a grommet. You can force a wire hanger through it and it will come out on the very far side under the dash. You will want to remove the glove box to get to it. You can't reach the grommet from the inside due to all the A/C - Heater box but a hanger will easily snake by the side.

Slapped in a new front wheel bearing/hub assembly over the weekend. A while back i tried to fix my leaky power steering, thought i had a bad low pressure line, but it's the actual fitting on the reservoir.. Broke off when i was putting the new hose on, someone had obviously broken it off before and jb welded it back on. So i tried to do the same, but ended up making it worse... Will need to replace the whole reservoir. Not very excited because apperently ya gotta pull the whole PS pump off to replace it[emoji14]

Had a weird day today.

Started off heading to get my xj inspected, of course I would need to get that done now... and stopped by the auto parts on the way to get some exhaust tape and wrap that leak I've been needing to deal with. :rolleye0012:

Passed just fine anyway. (Thank God we have a county close that doesn't do emission testing!) Had to renew my license too so I got that done too. I was noticing some shimmy in the front end at 60-65 but figured it was a tire balance issue or alignment since I don't normally get going that fast and it wasn't bad overall. Anyway, on the way back and after a bite, it progressed and became more noticeable and down to 45 mph at that point. Wasn't far from the house but decided to stop anyway. Not sure why, but I had a feeling it was a tire related, like a internal issue. So I got out and checked it out and didn't see anything. Had my brother steer it back and forth and everything looked fine. But... as I was heading to get back in I glanced over at the right angle and saw this...

9089

Yep, that's toast! :bang: Limped it home and here's another pic after I got it parked, safe at home.

9088

Gonna jack it up tomorrow and put my less than stellar (and leaking) spare on the back and one of the rears on the front. And now I have to figure out how I can somehow afford tires since I think this is a good reminder 12 years on a set of tires is a bit much for highway speeds. Good news is I think I got my moneys worth, as I've had them on there for 6 years and got em for free. :D

Another addition to "THE LIST"!

Had a weird day today.

Started off heading to get my xj inspected, of course I would need to get that done now... and stopped by the auto parts on the way to get some exhaust tape and wrap that leak I've been needing to deal with. :rolleye0012:

WOW man, yeah 12 years is a little past the DOT certification time limit lol. Certainly is a testament to the durability of the BFG casings though.

In other news... I finally got fed up with my rear end sagging (bro-squat isn't cool... especially on a Jeep). I've had a set of "extended shackles" - I say it with quotes because they're sold as "Lowering shackles" for trucks that are leaf-sprung over the frame. They're about 3" longer than stock overall, so I had to modify them a little bit to keep from jacking my rear end up too high.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/railman/lift/lift052.jpg

I would have installed these a long time ago, but the stupid nut welded inside the frame broke loose and started spinning when I went to remove the shackle bolt. So, I've been wanting to remedy this for 5 years now and finally got around to it.

What I did was cut the shackle and pry it open to be able to get enough room to get my grinding wheel in there and then just cut the bolt apart with the grinding wheel.

I already had an access hole to the frame rail cut through the floor, so all that was left was to remove the junked bolt and put the new parts in.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-iDhGJKcjn7E/VwL3hZb_mEI/AAAAAAAAS1A/rp3vqz3w8j81nr8QbZmZkFBdODXt8oqWwCCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_101833.jpg

Pay no attention to the superfluous holes. The on on the shackle hanger was me drilling holes in a failed attempt to gain access to the nut. The hole above the shackle itself is a rust spot in the floor.Yay. I'll be patching all the holes and cuts made in a frantic attempt to access the nut - don't worry.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-08oa-Fb4uR0/VwL3POQtFnI/AAAAAAAAS1A/pJGIfWaTtOc2M2IrK__Gwhh-PV7Jl8pvQCCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_100226.jpg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-vMdoeXKGRRw/VwL3NtNE7KI/AAAAAAAAS1A/HYr_t4bdoHQWzEksYyadFdFXFWJP498QwCCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_100233.jpg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Al5rNtrL2F0/VwL3bwhAPDI/AAAAAAAAS1A/zOn1HdKncIomSmF2FqC0L3RpLGtSznoygCCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_101055.jpg

One of the contributing factors to not being able to remove the nut from the bolt once the welds break loose, is the shackle bolt is longer than necessary.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TrDsYbJxGgM/VwL3atSFbuI/AAAAAAAAS1A/oHs4Ap_ibaI0beUHlEnSw_23nW8kMrCIwCCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_101716.jpg

4 1/4" for a shackle that's 2" wide... yeah, where do you think that extra length is going?

Yup... you guessed it... right in the frame rail, and sticking throuh JUUUUST far enough that you can't get a deep well on it... and a shallow well isn't big enough to contact the nut. :bang:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-exATRWOTfMU/VwL3kmSsgkI/AAAAAAAAS1A/WGrTN5s5XmUlm5OIaW3HR5nbSU6c9SGGwCCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_102341.jpg

The solution? Cut the bolt down...

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qic0hAYo-Qc/VwL3olVxgJI/AAAAAAAAS1A/RWayO5UjQfg_QFwO7mGVP2BXQNPgBvPqACCo/s800-Ic42/20160404_103546.jpg

3 3/4" is the perfect length to be able to secure the shackle and sit flush with the inside frame rail so you can get a deep well socket on it.'

See? Fits perfect!

While I wait for Amazon to ship my new ac compressor bearing I installed the rest of the XRC rear bumper. The tire carrier blocks the plate so I found a plate bracket from a Volvo wagon for that but to light it I am thinking about snagging the license plate light cover from a 98ish Chevy Tracker. Sorry no pics computer is down and I can't figure out how do do it from phone. https://flic.kr/p/G2ioWY

Yeah, I am definitely a fan of the bfg all terrain. 12 years is a good time on a set of tires but I stay away from the highway, or did. [emoji14] And there was no rot in the sidewalls.

Longer day than I thought. I got the tires moved around but it didn't go smoothly. My tire carrier that I built five years ago was the main culprit. I had a nut holding the tire down with some 1/4" round rod welded on both side to make a big wingnut. Well, five years of rust built up and wouldn't budge. And since I made the mount to be secure from theft I couldn't take the tire with the mount off together so I went one step further.

9090

Nothing worked getting that nut off and I bent the heck out of the round rod trying with two wrenches on them for leverage. Ended up cutting the wings off, along with a good chunk of the bolt so I could get a socket on it. Impact - 1, tire mount - 0

9091

9092

While I had the tires off I grabbed an old, near bald 35x12.50 I've had setting around for years to see how it looked. I figure its pretty close to the 33x12.50 i'm thinking of, maybe a little bigger.

9093

And here's a video of the tire in action from yesterday.

I didn't do anything near as fun as most... I fixed the stupid LDP code on the XJ...didn't even realize the vacuum line had come off the intake. Might make it easier to sell without that light on. :'( I must say...I'm being a little selfish because I'm not trying to sell it that hard. I'm tempted to sell my S10 instead....but I still have to pay it off first. XJ > 2WD S10 right?

How are you liking the TS-480?

Love it, I have been getting on the Rotten Apples net at about 5:00am on 7.238mhz on the way to work each morning.
Talking with a friend of mine who is working out of a hotel in Middletown New York. The Little Tarheel II is working great. I tune it for the most noise on a given channel and then fine tune on CW at 5 watts. I am quite surprised how well the receiver works in the TS-480.

Are you running the Icom 706?
I have never had the opportunity to run an Icom, always been a Kenwood guy myself.

denverd1

Meh... I guess maybe. It's a little too aggressive for AT status. Definitely more of an MT, but it's a good all-around tire.

http://images.stylintrucks.com/product_images/350x350/multi-mile_tires/WildCountryMTX_23740.jpg

FYI for anyone that's a brand snob, it's basically a Cooper Mud Claw.

http://www.gatewaytirecenter.org/285_70_17_Cooper_Mud_Claw2.jpg

From NTW's website:

"The Mud Claw is a premium mud traction tire with a deep, aggressive, high void tread design that works great in both loose dirt and deep mud but still behaves well on the highway. Built by Cooper Tire, these tires are marketed as a private brand tire under the Mud Claw name.

-Self Cleaning Interlocking Tread Lugs For Outstanding Traction In Mud And Soft Soil
-Alternating Lug Dimensions For Increased Lateral Stability And Bi-Directional Traction
-Staggered Shoulder Blocks For Enhanced Off-Road Grip Pinned For Studs For Improved Winter Traction"

I don't have them anymore, I'm running the Mudstars. I like these, but I'd like a set of the Mud Claws
Looks good. More tread there, should last longer

I had the 5/8 wave antenna and recently ordered another NMO cable from Larsen, so since I have a parking garage to park in now I order a $6.95 fender mount and install them all today.

I have a NMO cover coming for the NMO on the roof.

What year Jeep? Judging by the position of that, it looks like the bung that goes to the fuel pressure regulator... but it depends on what year as to which fuel system.

Base load make, Larsen, model NMO-2/70, I believe

I've had it for many years, and just kept it in the back so when we went on long trips I could just take off the short one and put on the 5/8's wave.

Other than the rockers.... while I had the fender off I figured i'd take advantage of the extra room to cut and fold the inside seam for some clearance. Just in case, since I'm going up in tire size.

9205

9206

Speaking of tires. I got the new ones swapped over to my wheels. Not sure how but I managed to get them dismounted, mounted, and balanced for $37 out the door at Pepboys. Everybody else wanted way more, and I called well over a dozen places. Goodyear, at the highest, wanted $180! For the same thing!

9207

Look good, don't they! I can't stop staring at them! Literally, I have one next to me now. I had a thought! I may search for a matching fifth tire and wheel to have as a center piece in my living room. Doubles as a spare? :D

But I am going to be glad to get it out of this position!

Good to know... thinking about doing this later on maybe (but ditching the turn signals as well.

Changed plugs in the 98 today. Found out the Champion copper(412) plugs were made in India of all places.

Hmmph! Didn't know that.. better than China, for sure! I recently did a tune up in mine with NGK V-Power Copper plugs.... I wish I could really compare the difference. My Champions were so worn out that the Jeep would barely start or run. So even a replacement of the same plugs would have yielded 100% better results. Maybe one day I'll have to do real comparison... buy both sets and compare them both.

I will say that gapping them to .040" instead of the recommended .035" seems to make it run a little smoother on a worn motor. Next, I need to replace the valve guide seals to keep it from smokin' like a freight train!

In other news, this week I indexed the distributor (even though mine is an HO, it has the Renix-style dizzy), FINALLY bedlined the rockers on my driver's side to even things up, and I relocated my CB radio to overhead. I'm MUCH more happy with it there. Completely out of the way, fits snugly up there, and my wife has more legroom over there now.

I'll post up some pics later.

Right now, getting ready for Jeep Beach!

ya ive done it all myself. my plan was to keep it a mild build but it escalated quickly lol. i was racing it with prerunners in different events and so i built the tire carrier to add more weight to the back to help with nose diving a little bit. that and the 30 gallon fuel cell helped a bit. I like the dual spare look and when on a trail i have needed two spares before.

Strangely similiar to the way its been running since 2009 actually. ;);)

Installed 16" wheels and new tires. They are 245/75... measure to be 30.5"x9.5.
I already had 30" mud tires on the back...so shouldn't be any big deal.
It's like when you tell a girl it's 8"...and it's really 6" or so...
The "30s" I had on it were really 28.5" tall... the 245/75s were a true 30.5" tall. A little rub on the back fenders, but they run nice.
Also did an alignment in the driveway. Runs down the road great.

I know most tire sizes are over stated.... but wow what a difference 2" can make. :P

As for the doing to the XJ ...

Since the exhaust flange gaskets have finally arrived, from the place 12hrs up the road,

Only took a week and a half for the gaskets to turn up ... shame they're aussie extractors,

Well we went and picked up an 87 XJ that was in dire need of assistance. Kid that had it before (i know him) jumped it over and over again when it was stock. bent both axles. I gave him a built 30 with 4.56 gears and a locker that i had laying around as a spare. he got a long arm kit from ruff stuff and attempted to put it on. wasnt anywhere close to being aligned properly.
Had no track bar, rear end is bent, crappy paint when we first picked it up, had mix matched sized tires, no front brakes or calipers, no front doors, no carpet in the back, and a bunch of other little things.

got it on friday, aligned the front it and got it somewhat moveable over the weekend. built a track bar and now building OTK steering. Going to pick up a new rear end next weekend, and front brakes.

The Fiance when and picked out the paint for it and i painted it on sunday. She wanted it similiar to my color but not the same. This is it with my 33s on it as it sits now next to mine with my 35s

Feel free to send the worn out engine and mounts to me... I'll take care of disposal for you!!! Would love to replace my worn out 4.0 with a 4.3... even if it is a "worn out" one...

Slowly working on doing some wiring for my switch panel, hoping to go out and wire up the Jeep as well as install the brackets for the A-pillar mounts... Eventually I'll get around to completing the lights (hopefully over the next week or so)!! Going to go and purchase the TB gasket and a new TPS tomorrow hopefully so I can install the 4hole injectors and the bored TB that have been sitting in my parts pile waiting to go in!!!

here!
OK… so since August this thing has been sitting (yes I know)…I’ve managed to knock off a ton of stuff off the list though:
Welded header – replaced gasket
Valve cover gasket, RMS, Oil Filter Adapter O-ring set, one piece oil pan gasket
More detailing than I care to recount…
Bored 63mm Throttle Body w/ custom butterfly valve
Bored 65mm TB Spacer
Both PCV Elbows
Second Battery installed, ECU Relocation w/ custom bracket
Custom bracket for battery isolator
LED under-hood lights
A TON of rewiring
Custom Cowel Induction

Last thing to do is fab the piece that will block the hole in the firewall for the new intake system.
…then it’s on to rebuilding the T-case…..
…putting on more armor...
…swapping the shocks…
...installing the transmission cooler...
Etc….etc…etc…
(sigh)

Funny thing is.. I was thinking the same thing with the whine from my 62mm TB I installed this past weekend... Didn't hear it nearly as much once I put the intake tubing to the filter back on... but I'm sure I'll hear it a plenty once I manage to figure out what parts and source them to build a "custom" cowl intake..

20150515 - Installed A-pillar pod brackets (finally) that I got from Jake (XJ Wheeler)
20160516 - Installed 62mm TB, that I've been meaning to install for over 6 months now
20160518 - Installed 4hole injectors from a Crown Vic

Got a few more items I plan (hope) to take care of by this weekend.. Heading out to the local Jeep club's land, to help them do some trail MX... as well as have a little bit of fun.. Hope to get some pics/vids of the Jeep in action, or at least out while having fun... Went to a club meet last night...as I came to a stop I noticed smoke coming from the front driver side hood area.

Got to the meet, like a few minutes away, and I could smell something like rubber burning. Looked all around couldn't see anything. Turned the vehicle back on, could then smell something for a brief moment, then nothing.

Drove home and there was less smoke/smell, but when I got home and got out, I could smell the burnt rubber smell again...also noticed my front driverside brake not working...

Wondering if my brake is rubbing something and causing the burn, When I got home it was starting to rain and it was dark. Will have to check it out some other time.

There is a little bit more engine vibrations and I was thinking about playing around with the tightness of the through-bolts to reduce them, but according to my girlfriend those extra vibes might not be such a bad thing...:rolleye0012::tongueroll::smiley-laughing021:

From what I've heard, the stock ones really don't last very long before breaking down. I originally purchased a couple stock mounts from Rockauto for ~$10/each. When I got them out of the box, their was a big gap between the rubber and the metal surround and they just didn't look like they would be much of an upgrade. The new ones sorta looked like the old passenger side one looked coming out: http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af15/abebehrmann/IMG_5554_zpsuykmu8mt.jpg (http://s989.photobucket.com/user/abebehrmann/media/IMG_5554_zpsuykmu8mt.jpg.html)

I could tell my engine was moving around a bit in there and I didn't want to go through the effort of changing out the motor mounts just to have to turn around and do it again so I purchased these Brown Dog's because of their reputation. I think the oem ones are designed more to eliminate engine vibrations than to keep the engine in place to better transmit power and when you start to challenge your Jeep a bit more, they tend to break down.

But to be honest, at least part of the reason I bought them was because I have a brown dog. hahahaha

Yep, that's my little pit bull buddy. We actually got a DNA test for her to see what she was mixed with.

I was sorta hoping that maybe, just maybe, she didn't have any pit bull in her which would make finding rental houses easier, although considering where she came from I was 99% sure she was mostly pit bull.

She came back as 3/4 American Staffordshire, 1/8 Staffordshire, and 1/8 Boxer and they don't test yet for American Pit Bull Terrier. Hahahaha, that sure was a waste of $60!

I love my Brown Dogs... and I miss my pibble. She was stolen from me at 9 months old. Purebred Rednose Am Staf (so technically not pitbull, but they look identical, just shorter). She was a perfect angel.... she never even barked once. For all I know, she was mute.

Installed the last couple bolts through the tie in plates for the front bumper (finally)... Installed the polyurethane sway bar bushings that I've had for months waiting on nice weather
Adjusted the rear brakes... still need to do more work on the passenger side... not sure if just need to be bleed more or what... but seems to not be as hard braking as the drivers side.. but yet when I adjusted the adjuster, it has a pretty hard dragging.. but yet when I hit the brakes, or pull the e-brake.. doesn't seem to really work nearly as well as it should.. But at least the drivers side is working properly... so maybe I won't completely kill my front brakes..

Do you happen to know the part number for that PS pump?? I'm assuming you're referring to the one that is supposedly an upgrade for the XJ?? I'm trying to figure out the PN for the proper one, that is supposedly an upgrade... as I think my PS pump, might be going out... so like everything else, might as well upgrade it while replacing it!!!

James, I know it is not the early WJ pumps. I have an FSM for a 99 and the pressure is the same as any other pump. Try the part number for the 04 with 4.7 engine

Yeah I guess the one I'm looking for is 1 for the 4.7... but can't remember the years that supposedly have the higher pressure/output... Might just spring for the extra cheddar and pick up the PSC pump or one of the aftermarket ones that is for sure higher pressure/flow...

Went to pick and pull sunday. Sat and talked with the manager a while. Went and pulled an alternator and scoped out a few other things and left. Went back monday said hi to the manager again went out into the yard. Started removing some seats, the guy pulling parts off the car next to me asked for some help pulling a bench seat. As I helped him another patron walked buy. I went back to removing my seat reached for my socket set and nothing was there. Someone stole my tools. I looked all around gone. I ran to the gate let the manager know. They said they would keep eye out for them. I went through the whole junk yard 3 times everyone there new someone was stealing tools and i was looking for mine. Several hours later I left empty handed. Drove an hour and a half home. Sat down on my couch and the phone rings, pick and pull had my tools. Someone tried to leave the yard with them and an employee took them away. He said they were his. They told the guy he could wait for me to show up if he wanted to try keep them, he left. 1 and 1\2 hours back to the city and my tools were back with me.

I ****ing hate people doing that kind of crap.. Don't know why people have to go and do some shady stuff like that.. I mean if you see some tools that look like they've been sitting in the back of a car, or under a set or something for quite a while... then fair game... but if you can tell someone owns those tools, and especially if someone is right next to the vehicle.. at least ask hey, are these your tools, or take them up to the office and maybe the office staff will hook you up and be like... hey if no one claims them today, well have them here waiting for you to pick them up.... don't just grab them and roll out!!

Glad you got them back. Great they caught the guy. I hope they banned him from the yard.

Which kit did you go with? The accountant gave me the go ahead to buy a lift, but she says anything over 3 won't fit in the garage. The 4 1/2 x series looks like a good deal considering everything it comes with.

Do you happen to know the part number for that PS pump?? I'm assuming you're referring to the one that is supposedly an upgrade for the XJ?? I'm trying to figure out the PN for the proper one, that is supposedly an upgrade... as I think my PS pump, might be going out... so like everything else, might as well upgrade it while replacing it!!!

my bad man, been working on it all weekend, the first one i got was reman, it leaked. supposed to go and pick up another one today. Oreillys doesn't sell a new pump

You need a ps pump for a 2001-like 2005 and for the 4.7L V8 Grand cherokee.
here's a link to the part:

I did the rough country 3" series II lift. It's a bit bouncy with the add a leaf, but I'm going to get some Monroe sensatrac shocks for a YJ and see if that doesn't smooth out the ride a bit. Sorry for the repeat post. I'm new to this.

I'm debating between that and the 4.5". My rear leafs are too far gone for add a leaf so I need to get the whole pack.

Yeah I was also on the fence for a while myself. I guess the question is "what do you plan on doing with it?" My wife might do light off roading, but I was going for a nice looking lift that made people look twice. Not because it's lifted, but just because it's clean.

Here is mine under garage door 3" lift and 30.5" tall tire. Looks like you would still have plenty of room for 1.5" of lift and 2" or so for about a 33" tire.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160531/6a361ca21db5b136a00116822e5cd927.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160531/93393b6554f32cf9d31fe91bd3391c37.jpg

Black cars look better in the shade!

Looks great, now go get some dirt on it! :)
