Default The Simplicity of the Cherokee

or older Jeeps in general is a great thing. Was glad I had a vehicle that is easy to work on today. Pulling into work I had a serpentine belt start to shred. Replaced it in 30 mins during my lunch break. Besides the rear shock top bolts, the heater core and the exhaust manifold most things on the XJ seem to be pretty easily replaced.

After doing 3 fuel pumps on my wife's 97 Chevy s10 Blazer I am glad that I don't have to drop the tank on the XJ and can pretty much get to it with out jacking up the Jeep or removing tires or anything.. Of course I am not hoping my fuel pump will go out.. but it has been humming for about 5 yrs now.

I feel the same way Jon. The XJ has to be the easiest vehicle I have ever had the pleasure to work on. There are certain things I have seen that on other vehicles takes forever to work on and a Xj it takes lil or no time at all.
