I have a fuel smell comin from underneath the XJ but only when I am going down hill. Its not a raw gas smell but like a burnin fuel smell(if that makes sense). Anyone have any ideas on what it is or what to look for?

As in Hot fuel smell?
Vent on the tank?
I do believe the vent is towards the front of the tank.
There's no leaks as I can tell. It only does it when I go down a hill. Once I get to the bottom of the hill the smell is gone.

evap hose maybe? there's a small hose that LOVES to rot away. Maybe something about going down a hill flexes it just right that it gaps and causes the smell to come out.

THOROUGHLY check your tank... I had this happen on my TJ a few years back and I inspected it twice before I found a huge hole on the TOP of the tank... thanks to the previous owner who cut the exhaust off right behind the rear axle to have it dump into the tank and melt a hole.... had to get a new fuel system, I know yours is most likely a metal tank which means there COULD be corrosion where the fuel pump is mounted to the tank which could cause the issue... My .02 oh and ALSO for some reason it didnt give me a check engine light either...
