I have an 88 Limited with the tow package and the AW4. My comfort switch used to work fine but just suddenly stoped. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be or what I should check?

I probably can't help, but I was wondering what a comfort switch is??
Yeah I'm sorry. I read your message but all I know about is my 1998. No comfort switch.
I don't know if this will help,on the earlier jeeps the switch was for power or comfort. I would check the fuses and then, with a volt meter ,check the operation of the switch. I read about the switch in a 89 Jeep owners manual.
The switch changes the shift parameters so check the TCU is plugged in tightly and that there is no corrosion. The switch itself goes bad if used frequently. They are pretty flimsey IMO. So those are a couple things to check. I have a AW4 manual and it describes the switches function but not much about diagnosing it if it begins to fail.
Hey bubba get your hand off my ass,
Some days it is just not worth it to gnaw through the leather restraints.

Thank's for the information and thank's for explaining the purpose of the switch. I'll check those ideas and see if that's the problem.
