According to the FSM.
Rocker cover bolts are 85 in. lbs.
Id suggest a reinz or a felpro, rubbery gasket.
I hate watching simplicity and reliability being ruined by bureaucracy and technology.

Just snug it down and give it about a 1/4-1/2 turn. Start in the middle and work your way towards the ends of the valve cover crisscrossing side to side. Some locktite on the bolts wouldn't be a bad idea as they may loosen up on you.

I never use rtv on a valve cover. If you do it's a bitch to get the cover off again.

only a few dabs just to hold the gasket in place on the cover side. never on the cylinder head side it will be hard to get back off.
I never use rtv, and normally what I do to torque it is get all the bolts snug in an even pattern then tighten them to you see a slight, and I mean slight bulge in the gasket by the bolts.

Thee later model valve cover uses a reusable rubber gasket, no cork at all. Do not use RTV, if it is leaking it is either loose or the VC grommets are old and cracked. The main gasket is pretty robust.
