OK! I already changed one side of my brain, I'm probably going for something over 5 inches

OK, but if you go any higher it will start costing you for steering upgrades, and there are not a lot of them that are highway friendly

I run 4.5" on 32s on my 89 and for me it's a great height for an XJ that is also your DD. I don't mind the 32s and stock gearing, either.

I'v spent several weeks looking at bolt on lift kits I think Im going with the Rough Country 4.5" X-series Long Arm Suspension Its around 1300 It looks like high quality all around - also I'm probab;y going with 33 11.50? anyone know about that kit specificaly?

4x4Dalton has that kit on his, he bought the jeep with it on it from Msmoorenburg. So, they could probably help ya out with that.
