I found a dana 44 front axle that came out of a ford f150. The guy tells me it will fit a cherokee. Is this true and what kind of modifications will I need to do to it? Seems to me an f150 would be wider than an xj.

This is a full width axle that will need fabrication to bolt in. Nice axle though. But you would need the rear axle out of the same truck to make a nice matched pair. This combo is used frequently. But if you cannot weld, might end up being spendy for you
230 hp 4.3L Chevy
Built 4L60E with manual lockout
Atlas 4 speed
Griffin radiator
On board air
Warn 9.5ti on custom bumper
7.5" RE front and bastard pack rear on custom long arms
30 gal gas tank
lockers
And a bunch of other stuff
Find out what year it's out of, 78-79 have cast wedges and you have to use a ford type radius arm, cheap long arms though ask me how I know. Stay away from the low pinion versions as well as the closed knuckle.
