Picked up a 96 XJ 2wd 4.0 last week. Need to do a motor swap. I have a Motor from a 95 YJ what will I need to do besides a different water pump and move the fan.
I know I will need to take the clutch off the 95 and put the torque on the 95 motor,

Should work without any problems. But to be sure change the intake manifold with all sensors and the coolant temp sensor too. Not sure if there was a change in part numbers, but better safe than sorry.

yeah was planning on swapping the intake. the Xj i got came from the south so there is no rust at all. The replacement motor I got came from upstate NY so it has salt corrosion all over the bolt on parts. I know The head on the motor that came with the xj had been rebuilt not that long ago so i am just going to bolt that one on the new motor.
