Winches.... what's in a name?

My suggestion is buy a used, brand name, winch. Case in point, I had a Ramsey 9500# on the front of my TJ. I bought it from a kid who wanted that off road look. He had it for exactly three months and decided to get a lift kit instead. The winch was never used. I paid 415.00 for a new, name brand winch (granted, that was a few years ago. But kids, winches, and Jeeps are all still out there).

I had that winch mounted on my TJ for 10 years. It got used a lot and never let me down.
