Well we found an engine that is newer than the 90.. so hopefully it won't be too much of a battle to install and get up and running.. after doing so probing with my hand randomly through the engine bay, found out he has a fist size hole in the side of the block, so rebuilding as a spare engine is def out on this one.. so no choice but to pick up another engine to drop in.. The only ones we could find were all 92+ and quite a few 97+XJ's.. The last one we talked to the yard about, and they said they'd be able to pull was out of a 92 Laredo w/ 5spd, now we shouldn't have any issues with just pulling the flywheel and such, and swapping on the flex plate, torque converter and bolting it up to the auto trans/bell housing correct?? Nothing special needs to be done to make this engine work with the auto trans with the exception of swapping everything over from the 90 engine to the 92 engine as far as the trans stuff.. Figure this will just be running as a newer version of the 90 engine by the time it is done and installed..
