Thanks .. Just bought a 1989 Cherokee with 81,000 miles from the original owner... The interior and engine are very good but I want to put on new shocks and I need to tighten up the steering. any suggestions. I plan on taking this down to our Condo in Caba San Lucas Mexico as our daliy driver when ever we get down there ..

Are you looking just to replace the stock stuff with something a bit better, or maybe get a little bit of lift out of it?? I see you are from Surrey, BC.. That is some beautiful country up there.. spent a few months there on vacation during my time stationed in Germany.. def. going to have to say some of my favorite vacation time ever right there!!

The last few times I have had sloppy steering it was either the track bar, or the pitman arm. Check those first. And welcome to the site

Thanks for the welcome .. went to my cousin's shop and should have know better as he is a jeep nut . He figures that is the track bar. I do not want to lift it now as my wife is also driving the Xj . But we just ordered new prerunner front bumper , steel rear bumper and rock slidders.... We are intending on leaving our jeep in mexico so I get to play with it at the south tip of the Baja.
