    Default tj 4.0 in 88xj

    im gettin a 97 tj motor to put in my 88
    what all will i have to do i wanna try to keep the H.O. head and intake

    Sounds like a chore. Alot more electronic gibberish on the TJ motor.

    Electronics don't match. You will need to transfer the Renix TB to the HO intake after making a 4x3 bolt plate. You need the Renix flexplate and dizzy to get it to run. You may need the Renix CPS as well. The TJ has no place for the knock sensor so that gives the ECU a loss of signal but that is OK unless you get some bad fuel.
    That is off the top what comes to mind to convert the TJ engine to work in a Renix era XJ.

    well now i might be gettin a 92 4.0 bc the guy i was gettin the 97 from sold it even though i told him i would take it

    Yea if it was a '91 ^ it would be alot easier but still alot of work.

    The electronics are still a problem between OBDI and Renix. Most of the same things I mentioned above would still apply.

    what if i got the wiring and computer from it also would i be able to basically throw it in hook to power and go
