Default Finally finished the rear bumper.

This is as done as it gets for a while. eventually I want to wrap the sides back towards the tire but I'm outta steel and this is more than overkill for anything I might need to do. everything is 1/4" except the end caps, they're 1/8". I used a chopped up universal Valley hitch for the trailer hitch.

total cost= 20 for hardware and lots of time scavenging material.

BTW, this is my first welding type project ever. I took a beginners welding class at the comm. college last semester and that pretty much sums up my welding experience.

Looks like the end of your Jeep will be coming off before that bumper is removed frome the sub frame. Nice work! I fully believe in overkill and personally I think it looks fine with out it wraped back to the tires.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

That's pretty tough looking you shouldn't have to worry about tearing that one up!

that looks really good man! smart move on the tie-ins, especially if you plan on using those recovery points.

So did you weld it in class or at your place? And if you did what kind of welder did you use? I want to Fab up stuff but am unsure if a 110 welder is going to work on 1/4 inch steal.
