I highly doubt i'm gonna witness that happening in my lifetime and i'm 29 now. I wouldn't trust it for another 10 years when it is erected cuz space tech is all new and anything could go wrong up there. We can fly or float around in a ship in space but can we really make an elevator? It's highly unlikely.

And you post this just as "Star Trek" is being released. What timing. I am an old man but I would love to go into space and encounter strange new worlds and meet strange new civilizations.

That is just awesome. It probably will not happen in my lifetime but who knows with the incredible jumps in technology we have been experiencing.
