    where would the best place to get D44 front and rear that would just mount in an 89 xj? i dont really want to cut or weld on them. really i am looking for the housings and i will put all new inners in it. but what yr and type vehicles can i get them from? or is there another or better way to get them?

    D44 rear, easy. In early XJs. D44 front? Tough. Has to be fabed or bought new to be a bolt in.

    so what would be the best front axel to put in there that i could bolt in and still run up to 35's and put in a selectable locker?

    You can upgrade your present D30 with larger alloy shafts, ujoints etc. Also on the list is a really tough diff cover like the ARB or take your pic. The idea is that the cast housing can stretch a little under increased pressure on the gears. Trussing is also a good idea as doing a little welding on the 'C"
