Actually I was thinking about this also. I was wondering if that was a good Idea.
The bad thing about doing that is that they're not removable (at least easily removable). The reason I like it is because it's harder to break a weld then to break a self tapping bolt, and those bolts don't always hold as tight as you'd like either. The other plus is that you're reinforcing that pinch seam where the actual slider sits. Another pro, IMO, is that welding them to the framerails adds a bit more rigidity to everything becuase now you'd have to force the slider to flex as well if your frame wanted to flex.

If you need to take them off just use a carbon arc but I doubt that you would have to remove them.
Yea, the only way I'll remove mine is if a rock does it for me... which I doubt will happen.
