On my 97 XJ the driver side door won't lock. As soon as you take the door panel off it will lock. Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Driver door lock
On my 97 XJ the driver side door won't lock. As soon as you take the door panel off it will lock. Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?
