Good and affordable might be somewhat of an oxymoron. A 3" lift kit is about the best bang for the buck. However they come in different configurations. An inexpensive kit may be nothing more than a rear add a leaf and 3" spacers for the coils. But add a leaves eventually will start to go flat, especially if flexed a lot. A good kit will have full leaf packs for the rear, coils for the front and a track bar relocation bracket or new track bar and shocks. And then there are the in between kits. It depends on purpose and budget.
230 hp 4.3L Chevy
Built 4L60E with manual lockout
Atlas 4 speed
Griffin radiator
On board air
Warn 9.5ti on custom bumper
7.5" RE front and bastard pack rear on custom long arms
30 gal gas tank
lockers
And a bunch of other stuff
For entry level without breaking the bank, I'd say check out Rough Country's selection of kits... As Steve said though... do everything you can to avoid the rear AAL's or even lift blocks... I'd say might as well spend the money now on a full rear leaf lift, that way you won't have to spend that money later down the road after spending the money on the AAL or lift block setup in the first place.. Just MHO!!
