The Sliders would DEFINATELY not be as strong as a traditional rail type. That being said, even JCR notes that point on their website.

Big rock ledges aren't really something I've seen a lot of around here, nor are they really the intended use for the XJ right now. I wanted something that would add some side/bottom protection, look good, and be a bit different. Since the XJ sees mainly utility and "overland" driving, I don't think not being able to take full weight body drops will really be much of an issue.

The Crusader sliders are still pretty darn beefy though, and certainly make for a WAY stronger set-up then what I had stock.
