I didn't like the underside of the bumpers... Rough-edges, manufacturing-marks, holes. So I covered the area with a heavy-vinyl(adhesive-backed) material.

Turning a useless cut-out into storage:
BEFORE:
AFTER - The bottom section will be attached and hinged...
AFTER - So the top section can be pulled open...
Carpet and finger-pull to be added later.

Nice work love the storage idea
Small stuff...
Covered the plastic bumper filler/shield with textured-vinyl:
I have sent-out the first interior panel to be covered - I intend on covering all the interior plastic. For the purists... I use double-faced tape so the panels can be restored to original:
1) NOS matching fabric across the top
2) New carpet (to be wrapped)
3) Top of carpet and around latch-cover to be bound/stitched
If this works... I'll have the other panels done too!
NOS Headliner has arrived! Need to have it covered in a matching Tan material:

Everything is coming along nice, even those small details that most wouldn't even bother with... (and there is def nothing wrong with that)...
