So this weekend, I decided to replace the blown shocks on the rear of ol Cheapokee. Someday this has to get easier.
We'll start by shearing the bolt off both bottom mounts, "oh what to do" originally thought the only thing I had to break were the welds holding the bar pins to the top of the jeep, turns out, an air chisel made quick work of that.
After getting the old shocks off, I installed my new rough country bar pin eliminators. But now what to do with my freshly sheared bottom mounts? Grind the head of the pin smooth, bore a hole through the middle, retap for a bolt. Hey, it worked great.
After all the fabrication, my new rough country n2 hydro shocks went right up.
New problem though, while in the air I noticed both my leaf springs are sheared in the middle spring, guess what I get to do next? anyone have any experience with the bastard assembly I saw on you tube?
For now, the jeep isn't bouncing, isn't floating, isn't swaying so much, that part I'm digging.
My phone I'd having issues uploading my photo diary st the moment, pics to come
