    Default Lift question

    bout to do a 6.5" lift, they recommend using a slip yoke eliminator which got one ordered, its a cut and tap kind, how easy is this to do? and do i need anything else for this lift besides that. any help would be great thanks

    They can be fairly easy, but you have to be very precise with your cutting and drilling, so not much room for error on them. You can do it with the tcase still in the Jeep, but for the best results and lower chances of getting something crooked, I suggest pulling it out. As for needing anything else, it just depends on what your lift kit comes with. You'll need longer brake lines, new lower control arms, longer shocks, etc. What all comes with your kit?

    You will have better success with the tcase out.
    230 hp 4.3L Chevy
    Built 4L60E with manual lockout
    Atlas 4 speed
    Griffin radiator
    On board air
    Warn 9.5ti on custom bumper
    7.5" RE front and bastard pack rear on custom long arms
    30 gal gas tank
    lockers
    And a bunch of other stuff

    the kit comes with all that so im good there, and thanks i will take my tc out when i do it, but the kit also said something bout may also need a longer driveshaft, do i have to have a longer one or is that what the slip yoke eliminator is suppose to take care of

    most SYE kits allow a front drive shaft for a drop in fit. But I would go with what the kit says.

    you'll definitely need a longer shaft. You can get front shaft from JY or have yours extended. for the money, I'd got with JY model and rebuild it.
