Keep breaking studs

anyone have any ideas what to do next have broken off and need a permanent fix went to torque wheels and feel off before i even turned it

nope unscrewed it by hand this is the second time when i put the socket on it just fell off it has been two months since i have taken the wheels off

Are your wheels hub centric?

dont know had a local jeep guy call around they called mickey thompson and this is the style lug they told me i should use so i bout 20 of them

You can check the hub centric stuff yourself. Just put the wheel on and it should fit snug on the raised portion of the hub. I am thinking they are not and due to the distance the nuts are out on the stud that the wheel is moving around and the studs are getting metal fatigue. You might end up having to get some other wheels.

remember it has the manual hub lock out conversion on it

OK, but I am still thinking that that wheel is moving around and cracking the studs. Something to check anyway.

I understand, but this wheel has worked itself around on here at least twice right? The center may be augured out. Wheels need to have a hub center to keep alignment. The studs hold it tight and help keep them from spinning on the hub. If you have nuts that far out it is too much for the studs to keep the alignment.

so i have to deal with it till i buy new rims and tires

and have had no problem out of the rear has all been up front

Sounds like it might be a design problem. One suggestion, see if there is a different part number for XJ and Bronco II wheels

Non hub centric wheels will work just fine on an XJ, have some myself. I see you are using s shank style lug nut, what kinda wheels do you have?
