I am looking at trading my 84 Toyota Pickup for an 87 Cherokee Laredo XJ. Owner says it's not receiving spark, and that he already tried the "unplug the connector (don't what it goes too, but it's above the intake mani)" method, and it didn't work. Any ideas on what to check and/or replace? The owner has already replaced the distributor cap and rotor.

I will probably follow through with this trade, just because I am f-ing desperate for an XJ.

My auto to manual swap question is: will Wrangler pedals and driveshafts work in an XJ? I know the Grand Cherokee pedals are different than the XJ, but want to know if a set of Wrangler pedals would work, and I'm just not sure about the driveshafts (mostly because I don't know the wheel bases on these).

If Wrangler pedals won't work, are there any aftermarket companies that still make the pedal assembly?

Sorry if this is redundant.
