Wanted to extend the roof-rack end-caps:
1) Original end-cap
2) Prototype - Bondo/spray-primer
3) 3D of Prototype (UPS store)
4) 3D sanded and Covered with chrome Vacucoat...

Covering the plastic-parts is time-consuming. A lot of trial and error. I still have fine-tuning to do. In the meantime... Here are some pictures of the progress:

Overall... Everything appears to move/release as designed... Until I shut the hood. Do you think by adding additional spacers it would reduce the tension so that the latches would open easier?
To re-test... I snapped pencils into the latches... Pull cable. Both pencils drop-out.
I observe spacers under the latch/spring mechanism. What would be the result if I added addition...

The dash is now reassembled. Radio in (power-antenna operational), and face-plate installed.
Then... I stood-back and could still see some of the wiring under the dash. Used a piece of...
- Removed the two bolts behind each of the headlights to release the two end latches.
- Removed the skid-plate.
- Slid a wooden-pole up between the fan and radiator, pushed up on the front-center...
Yeah... Both bolts are out. The hood have popped-up... But it didn't.
I'm now thinking of removing the skid-plate... Reach up between the fan and radiator to release the center latch.
I installed a new hood-latch-cable. Pre-tested its' operation. Shut the hood. Unable to re-open.

1) Video on how to release the latches. I am unable to reach them because the skid-plate is...
It seems most of the used lift-gate sill-plates had scratches in the same place. I even purchased a NOS that then scratched in the same place.
Concluded that the latch in the lift-gate with too...
