Depends, who's driving it.
If your wife/girlfriend is driving it, by all means paint it red so it all matches.
If YOU are driving it, paint it black, and get it muddy. Then paint it black...
What's the fluid look like, red or brown (or black)...is it at the correct level? The trans has a hard time if it gets overheated and the fluid gets burnt. If the fluid is not the correct fluid...
Finally getting back to this. I pulled the tranny, pulled the torque converter. Took the converter to local tranny shop. Got an impartial opinion. He had the mentioned "tools" and did the above...
That, and the front "air dam" were among the very first things to be torn off all the Jeeps I've owned. I'm under there so often playing with things that I'd have to remove the PITA once or twice a...
Hi there,
I drove my 88 MJ to work (25 miles), highway speeds, no issues. Went to lunch, it made a kind of screechy, metallic sound for about 5 seconds and the truck stuttered for about 1/4 mile....
It's pretty obvious that his Jeep is just a beater. Disposable. I like to watch that stuff, but I'd never do it to my MJ...too much time, money and work into it. Plus I'm older and less...
Is your tach working? Do you have a tach?
I like thjat idea IF I was looking at the beep-beep sound. A better beep-beep (and a stronger sound) are 59-69 Mercedes horns, they'll make a cat jump straight up in the air at 30 feet. :D
Not that anyone is going to do any different or give a hoot what I say but:
So you ripped the corners off, and you think it turned out good? I think it looks like you were in an accident and the...
Who cares about wheels once you click that link??
Good call...good price...didn't know about the re-boxing
I love rockauto...they've never let me down.
Look through this post by Cruiser54 on ComancheClub.com. Some very good tips for the Renix years. It should address the slow, weak spark issue as well as alot of other cheap, easy diagnostic stuff....
The weakish yellowish spark could be caused by a few things.
A weak or poorly connected/grounded ICM
The ICM itself
The sensor ground in the harness.
Plug wires/Rotor etc.
Some questions:
What did it sound like before you changed plugs
Did you change plug WIRES too? Cap? and if so,what kind of cap, brass contacts or aluminum? Rotor?
What kind of plugs? Fancy...
Fan clutch.
If you haven't replaced in the last few years...or ever...it's likely weak.
How do you mean the fan clutch seems fine?
In my neighborhood, walking around holding a piece of metal wearing a hockey mask could cause someone to have a stroke...or shoot you!! :D
Block the wheels.
Put the tranny in 1-2 Be sure NOT to have your face directly above the T-handle. If you do you will hit yourself in the face when it comes off
Pull up...hard.
If that...
Yeah, that! It goes on/in sideways...as far as the other end...I dunno. It's weird though with the "disk" in the middle of the harness (looks like a vacuum servo, so I'm confused).
It plugs, or more correctly, mounts, on the little "box" on the hitch bar itself. If you don't have a stock hitch with a "box" you may have to get creative. You can mount it to a plug flange mount...
I believe the OP is talking about the diff vent line. (zip tied)
Yeah, me too...either it's a typo or the users name should be "stumpy". I keep my hands clear of ANY moving belts or pulleys. Blood will make your belt slip too.
Did you torque them with the wheels on the ground? With the weight of the Jeep on the suspension?
If it is a V8, grab the tie rod. It's a direct swap (although it look a bit different) and it is a solid piece of steel instead of a hollow tube, much beefier. Drag link is the same as XJ.
