Ok, you say it goes to the floor with it running? But not when the engine is off?
If thats the case, proportioning valves have nothing to do with it. It definitely sounds like either you vacuum...

Well the park where I live is having "issues" with my Jeep...lol
I replaced the gear on the dizzy and the oil pump...and it puked both of them. Figure the cam is FUBAR'd...the park is not going to...
Read my mind there Muddy. ;)
Am checking with a couple local wheelers, about what I need to do the job.
Looking at either having a shop build it, buy a built one or doing the job myself.
Need to...
Yep, new pump and gears on the dizzy. Either something is binding or the cam has a issue I cannot see. Have spare set of gears. Going to drop the pan again and take a closer look at the cam. Might...
Pulled the distributor today...its chewed up another dist gear...any ideas on what is doing this?
Well, got a new pump and gasket and rear seal. Jacked her up, disconnected the shocks and sway bar links( in the process, snapped them both off, must be original). Dropped out the pan pulled the...
Gratz on the new XJ. Looks good. Maybe you can use it to see the differences of the two to figure out your heat creep issue.
All the pics I have seen of Blasphemy, I never noticed you had a Comanche tail gate on it!
I like the SUT look. I need to get a garage....
My bad I thought you said you had the 2 temp sensors.
I have both on mine because I changed out to the better head...I put a mechanical temp in the rear
For the temp one is for the PCM and one is for the gauge. Later they went to the one in the thermostat housing to do both jobs.
In 96 they had one number for the gauges with idiot lights and one for...
Thank you.
Now to go question the "parts technicians" ability to figure it out?!
Dang I am getting old...lol...no patience for button pushers with no outside "real world" exposure.
OK, I am confused. I have a 98 with the 4.0. The dash has the idiot lights, I have a replacement cluster that has all the gauges.
The temp and the oil switches I am told from some sources is the...
(I used 1x12 for my floor and changed it out every couple years)
That should take care of the floor ^^^^
Looking at emt as well. Simple bender needed, that can be rented. And it can be picked...
If you pull the rad cap off and start the engine and get a geyser...heads blown.
Are you sure the system is air free?
All the fans working correctly?
Thermostat working properly?
Take my word...
Well I got me a "deal" on a 98 Cherokee a while back.
Have had a mass of issues that have kept it off the road.
Got it to start finally after replacing the head and manifolds.
This turned out to...
Have you done a gauge cluster test to make sure its working right? Did this on mine and found that the fuel gauge was sticking.
To do it, hold down the odometer button, then turn the key to the run...
That would be me. My Jeep ran rough and died alot. we thought it was the manifold, gaskets, the head...all kinds of things. The gear on mine was busted up. I have talked to local members, It appears...
Not much left to fix or replace..lol
NSS is the last thing to do, but not a "must do" item.
Found the issue today. Going to have to take a closer look as to how/why this happend.

Now to fix the issue....geez, does it...
Well with me turning it over for the last couple weeks, I will have to start from square one to get TDC. Then the fun of loading the distributor back into the hole correctly...some much easier on...
Made a discovery today...pulled the cap to check the cam position sensor....On a whim I asked my wife to turn it over....then as the rotor was turning...I grabbed it....it stopped dead in my fingers....
OK..what decides when to spark?
If I am thinking right..the CPS and the Cam sensor tell the PCM that its ok to fire, then the PCM grounds out the coil to fire the coil...am I close?
So the coil and...
There you go Tony....they come in.....RED!!!
Mike
Well so far I have replaced all the cables with larger ones, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cps, and other assorted items...still no start...heck if it was a manual, I could drive it on the starter!!..lol...
Changed the cables and ends...the originals were real ugly, and blue. Hooked everything back up...now she turns over much faster...but still wont start...2 parts left to check/replace.
