My jeep wont start
So my 93 xj won't start. I tested the battery and alternator, tried to jump it, the last time it did this I just had to shake the auto stick and hold it just in the right spot and it would turn over. Won't do it this time. I don't know maybe silenoied? Or ignition? Please help someone.

Re: my jeep wont start
Neutral safety switch. Try starting in neutral instead of park. If it does, the switch needs to be cleaned

Re: my jeep wont start
It's pretty easy to do, I would just say pull the NSS and tear it down and clean her up.. I'm pretty sure that is your issue.. At least it has been on both my 97 as well as my 90 when I had similar issues to what you are describing..

Re: My jeep wont start
So it won't start in neutral. I tried turning the key to the on position and tried arcing the starter. I could hear it spinning freely. Then a few more times it finally engaged and I could turn the key and bam turned over. I think it's my starter is going to die.

Re: My jeep wont start
the solenoid could be the culprit. It won't hurt to replace the starter (~$60) and if that's not the fix, at least you have a new one :D

Re: My jeep wont start
If the starter turns but does not engage, that is usually caused by a dirty Bendix gear. If you pull the starter and then clean the gear and the shaft it rides on, it will probably work right
