replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
so i let my jeep sit for a little bit. replaced the spark plug cables distributor and rotor and now she wont start. i reconnected the battery lights came on in the cab. put the key in then turned the ignition and all the power in the car died. no sign of an attempt to turn over. any suggestions?
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
update. disconnected and reconnected battery. tried again. loud click as i went to turn the key. also it sounds like my battery is hissing?!
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
just a sanity check ;) Did you plug your cables properly ? Hey someone had to ask lol
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
Charge the battery you may have enough to light the interior light and not enough to start the rig. It takes a minum of 9volts for ten seconds to start a vehicle
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
Sounds like a bad connection on your battery cables.
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
ok so i just disconnected, reconnected and this time is sounded like a ton of loud bad clicks, then my doors started locking and unlocking on their own. i think maybe its cuz i had a battery charger hooked up?
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
yay she started but now it wont idle properly
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
It should start running better after driving for a bit, after the ECM resets itself
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
like if i dont take my foot off the gas itll stall in park.
should i just keep my foot down slightly and put it in reverse back it down the driveway and drive it around the block a few times?
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
Yep, that should clear things up.
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
sounds good. i just got it to idle properly in park im a let it sit in the driveway for a bit to learn that again iguess.
Re: replaced rotor/distributor/cables now won't start
Yup once the battery dies the ecm has to re learn everything, be sure to drive it before you have to depend on it just in case it takes a little longer to learn driving ,shifting patterns
