I put the main bearings in and measured with Plastigauge
I'd estimate all at .0015
When I put the uppers in, I noticed the oil feed opening on the block is like 1/4" dia
The bearing opening is oblong, and has roughly 1/2 the opening as the block.
As well, the bearing's opening (all of them) are slightly out of line with the block.
How much smaller of an opening should the bearing feed hole be?

so would I file the bearing?

I thought King were OK. Do I need to reconsider and go with a different brand?
I would take a look at #4. It doesn't seem to be on an oil journal. It doesn't have to be totally aligned, but does have to be on a hole somewhere.

They're backwards ~ 4 is on the left
3 is the circular opening on the thrust bearing
It's actually fully centered.
The other (same as 5) less than 1/2 of it is open.
With a .002, is 1/2 blocked enough?
If half is open, it is enough. But if you want you can carefully enlarge the hole. The fault is not in the bearing, it is in the block casting.
