Rough idle when hot
Hello,
So I have a late year 96 xj, all the parts that are on it are 97....I have been dealing with an issue for quite some time. It's been a lot of diagnosing but still no answer. When it's hot outside and the engine is running bout 220, it runs fine until I turn the engine off. With a 10 to 12 minutes time frame of waiting, when I restart the xj it sputters and rough idle, worse in gear but sometimes I can apply the throttle and it will clear up, sometimes it just dies.
These are the things I've already done:
Cat converter replaced, IAC, TPS, coolant temp sensor, map Sensor, upstream o2 sensor, purge valve, TSB- heat shield and boot on #3 injector, cleaned the throttle body, new plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Heat tape on fuel rail and other injectors and fuel filter, and raised the back of hood for ventilation.
I appreciate any feed back, sorry for long post. Really want to get to the bottom of this.
Thanks in advance

Re: Rough idle when hot
You may be having trouble with vaporizing the gas in the fuel line. If that happens, since you have no fuel return line, you can only give it the gas and get rid of the vapor. Once it cools down, then the vapor condenses and all is nice. One thing you can do is vent the hood and shield the fuel line and injectors
