Just dogs out
My 98 will idle up and then down until it finally dies. Going down the road it will sputter until you hit the gas hard and then it takes off like a race car. Doesn't do this all the time. The problem seems to be getting worse. It used to do it and then it would stop for about 2 months now it seems like it does it everytime you get into it. Any ideas, i'm thinking maybe fuel pressure regulator. Thanks, Andy

Re: Just dogs out
My guess is that it is the throttle position sensor. Since you can get it to run well at full throttle, it is not the fuel pressure regulator since it would run the worst at peak demand on the fuel system.

Re: Just dogs out
or it could be a dirty/sticky IAC, might be worth trying to clean it. do you have an engine light on?

Re: Just dogs out
It sounds like IAC to me. Honda's and a few others are know for this to happen. Also any change its runnin rich? If a injector is leakin into the cylinder or the FPR is stuck wide open then you could be gettin to much gas and not enough air till you floor it.
