Plus making it much easier to get to :D
Well the new belt works great, I think I lost 20 lbs this new belt is so short, but with only 4 pulleys that's all it needs any more.
Warmed Mort up, getting ready to break in the ring when I noticed a couple of problems, sparks jumping out of the plug boots, and no heat!!!
Back to the drawing board!
Ok heater mod is working great now, so I got Mort up to temp, and did a break in cycle, tomorrow I should have almost everything buttoned back up, then I can swap the rear coils and go for a drive!!!
Going for taller coils?
Yup, removing the 2" spacer that was in there to keep me fairly level, and swapping in taller stronger coils.
Looking forward to seeing that done and the results

Ok, finished buttoning Mort up, aimed his lights, swapped in the new rear coils, flushed the cooling system among a bunch of other little fixes. Then took him for a boot! Much better! A little more low end torque, don't bottom the rear shocks out on speed bumps. Can't wait to take him to work Monday!
Have a few engine codes now though p0443,p0132 and p0135. Will try to sort those out soon enough and I will just have to see what happens in the next little while.
Looking good Dana. Congrats
Good work bud! Glad to hear he's doing well. Still looks amazing btw!
Sent via messenger pigeon - i talk, he types.
Thanks guys, he still has a lot of valve train noise, hopefully Santa has a set of roller rockers earmarked for me this year! And at some point I will pull the stroker and blueprint the crank and rods. But for now it's time to hit a few trails!
Well I feel kinda stupid, Mort was throwing a few engine codes, one was an oxygen sensor that I forgot to plug in, and the other was for the emissions solenoid thingy, tried to clear them a few times and they would not clear. Figured great now I get to live with that and try to solve them later.
Woke up this morning and realized that you can't clear codes with the engine running, cleared them and ran around town all day without them coming back.
A real aha moment
Ok, had to go do some welding on bribeguy's jeep, took Mort on the highway for the first time, has no power after 3400 rpm, like he is out of air, or fuel not like when he hits the rev limiter. Not sure if it's because of the cheep plug wires I have, possibly floating the valves or what's happening????
Anyone experience this before? Any suggestions???
Mudderoy had the same problem after a rebuild. Can you get it back by going to a higher RPM?
