Just recently got my A/C up and running. I have a question for all of you. My A/C is nice and cold and works great on low fan speed and medium fan speed, however, I have no high fan speed at all. It acts like a bad switch. I'm considering swapping out my Heat/AC control unit in the dash.
YOUR THOUGHTS IF THAT'S A GOOD IDEA?
There are three things you need to check. The switch, which can go bad. The connections on the back and associated wiring and third the ballast resistor on the HVAC housing. Your selector will be OK. There is a lot of current, full current that goes through the switch on all speeds. Having the switch or resistor get toasted is a common problem
I hate to be a pain, but can you give a more detailed description of where the ballast resitor is located?
It will be shielded, but look at the HVAC housing directly below the glove box
