I can't say for sure either way, but I would imagine if you had a misfire you would also have the P0300 code (or any of the variants specifying which cylinder... P0301, P0302, etc).
A bad crank sensor might cause a misfire

Nicky is right, the misfire would be caused by a bad CPS. If it did it once, it will do it again, possibly leaving you stranded. Best to change those every 100K as a preventative measure
The jeep runs and idles fun though that's the weird part? Code has cleared and the jeep is running fine
I have a repeating missfire in cyl 1 and temp sensor out of range issue. They will pop up and go away for weeks at a time. They were present last time i got it inspected and my mechanic said that he double checked everything...he thinks there is something funny with my ecu. I dont worry about it much..lol.

Thanks for all the input on the issue. If it happens again I'll start with the sensor and go from there
