Brake Pads on incorrectly
Hey guys, I was going through my new Cherokee tonight making sure everything is in working order and I came across this (see pic). Is it just me or did the guy who installed these pads last install them on the wrong sides of the car? The side of the pad with the two ears is on the top and the one eared side is on the bottom. I referenced both the 1999 Jeep Cherokee service manual as well as my Haynes Manual, both show the two eared side on the bottom. Am I crazy?:out:
Re: Brake Pads on incorrectly
Sorry, the photo uploaded weird. That pic shows the part of the pad that is on the bottom of my Jeep.
Re: Brake Pads on incorrectly
The two ears should go in tbe direction of forward rotation

Re: Brake Pads on incorrectly
Sorry, I think I explained that terribly. In this pic it shows the pad notch on the bottom. On mine, the notch is on the top ledge of the caliper bracket. If i were to remove the caliper, I would need to pull the bottom part out first.
Re: Brake Pads on incorrectly
I know what your saying. Yes that would mean they are upside down
Re: Brake Pads on incorrectly
Notch should be at the bottom AFAIK ... and the FSM diagrams and the 3 complete D30s I have.
Re: Brake Pads on incorrectly
Just making sure I'm not going crazy. Thanks for all your help you guys.
