Well I could not get those bolts out or drill them out, ended up having to cut a hole and replace the bracket.

Then I mounted the hatch, and removed the bumper so I can plan out tail lights and bumper mods. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...461d42bd5f.jpg

Uh, did you just replace your steel rear door with fiberglass?
Nope only had Fiberglass.

OK, I give. Why change the tail gate then?
Old one was modified to fit the old bumper, was never happy with it as I had to trim the bottom to clear the bumper and that made holes. Also I deleted the licence plate holder as it was now located on the swing out. Since no more swing out I need a spot for the plate.

Probably lost another 25-30 lbs off the rear bumper.

And it looks like the hatch is going to fit without any more mods. Still have to cut the other exhaust hole.

Yup, that steel gets heavy fast
The diet looks like it is coming along nicely... If mine was a trail only rig, I'd get rid of the swing out carrier too.. not only for the weight, but for the aggravating bouncing (granted yours was built far better than the one I have, so probably wasn't an issue for your setup).. lol
