Yes, you will be able to change springs with out jacking up the vehicle, just drive one side up a ramp, if you have quick disco's. The limiting factor is usually the shock travel/ spring length with LA's. That's why they make LIMITING STRAPS, so you won't loose a spring during flexing.
thats what I'm talking about. I'll play around with what I've got now for a while as it blows my mind just about everytime we go out how capable these things are with a few inches and decent tires. LAs are on the list! lockers first though....
Yeah I can't wait to put some on the jeep, and then after that I'm going to be debating on changing my leafs for springs in the rear
Chris, there are some questions you will have to consider before doing that. One biggie is this your daily driver and if so, what are you going to do with the exhaust? It gets tricky taking a pipe all the way to the back with a four link rear. That is why Jeep uses a mirror image of the front four link. Just things to consider.
Well what's the pros and cons about making this switch, which is better for off road
Long arms hands down
Which one is better between coils and leaves?
You mean coils and leaves? That just depends. There are a lot of things that can be said for both. Leaves tend to provide more stability since they generally have a higher spring rate. However coils ride better because leaves have a built in friction device with the leaves rubbing together. Generally speaking, if you are looking at lots of flex, coils will provide that better than leaves since leaves have inherent limits on how much they can flex. However if you have a long enough leaf spring, then they will match the coils for flex and give more stability.
I see, well that helps. Thanks
