Windshield Wiper Controls-Help is necessary!
I've got a 90' xj w/4.0 I6. Recently my windshield wipers stopped functioning properly. They now only work on Lo setting. No intermittent or Hi speeds work. I immediately thought that the the "intermittent Wiper Delay Module" had went bad so I replaced it. That did not fix the problem.
My question really is this. What else could have caused this? The actually controls on the steering column?
Thoughts?
Also, how difficult is replacing the controls on the steering column?
Re: Windshield Wiper Controls-Help is necessary!
you have two things here that could be bad. The switch, or the motor. To find out, you will need to unplug the motor and jump it directly. There will be three wires to it. One that is hot all the time, the park mode and one for high and one for delay. To my knowledge, the delay depends on current going through it to heat a bimetal spring with a set of contacts for the intermittent function. If there is no current going through it, it will not work
