How many...
...exhaust hangers should there be on my 93 Cherokee? I put a new muffler and tail pipe on tonight and it just has the one hanger on the tail pipe by the muffler. There's also some sort of rubber bumper looking thing on the frame rail right above the pipe about a foot from the end. It looks like there was supposed to be something else hooked to the rubber that maybe had more to it before it rusted and fell off. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Is one hanger all that's needed? It feels like with just the one hanger it's pretty solid, but I also don't want it to fall off if I hit a few bumps.
Thanks

Re: How many...
Mine has a hanger at the top of the bend over the axle

Re: How many...
Mine has a hanger just before the bend to start the axle. Just not sure if that's all that should be there. If the one I'm wondering about farther back is in fact supposed to be a hanger of some sort, I'm guessing it would be more of a strap.

Re: How many...
Yes, something in that vicinity will do it.

Re: How many...
It certainly should have that one beside the tank. These exhaust systems have to deal with a lot of vibrations and I've had a couple of the hangers break on the work trucks. If you don't weld it should be easy to get an exhaust shop to fab one up.

Re: How many...
The first two pictures are exactly what I have. Well, what I should have. The second picture is just the rubber with nothing else there. The third picture looks like something that I could add fairly easily. I'll have to look and see if that's something that have at Napa or can get. It looks like it should should bolt in and use an exhaust clamp over the metal tab.
Thanks a lot.
