Rear inner fender pannels
ok today i was starting to put on my rear hd fenders from rustys. i didnt read the directions fully and now on the passenger side i cut off the pinch welds holding the two panels together. so do i need them to be welded together for safety? i know mud will get in the cabin and also probobly wouldn't pass inspection. should i just get some 12 GA steel and weld it in place?
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
That is about all you can do with it
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
thats what i was thinking
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
If you are going to cover it up, no biggie
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
its the part in the wheel arch on the underside. the first part there is a seam like six inches back
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
Yes, I understand. That can be a common mistake. If you can weld or rivet a piece in there it would be good so you don't get water and mud in there
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
yea plus exhaust gases. with the jeep being my second vehicle now im not as worried but i still wanna be able to have it pass inspection
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
Yeah, it is a good idea to run a full length tail pipe and keep the holes plugged
Re: Rear inner fender pannels
yea the xj seems to run better with the tail pipe on it.
