Automatic trans slipping?
Hi everyone, this is my first post so bear with me. I have a 96 xj country and probably about a week or so after buying the jeep it started jumping now it feels like I'm losing alot of power during acceleration. So I was wondering if there is anything else I should be looking. I change my fluids regularly and I checked my throttle cable. Any known problems anyone knows of please let me know.thanks for the help!
Re: Automatic trans slipping?
O2 sensor new? If not I would suggest starting there unless you see the tach rising and falling to much while accelerating and decelerating.
Re: Automatic trans slipping?
Im not exactly sure. How would i check to see if they are good?
Re: Automatic trans slipping?
If your O2 sensor has not ever been replaced or it has been a long time, then it needs to be. They wear out over time. It determines fuel air mixture and is critical to keep the engine running right.
Re: Automatic trans slipping?
im sure it hasnt been changed in quite sometime. Im off today so I'm going to check it out. I should be able to find it in my repair manual. Thanks for the advice! I will let you know how it goes
Re: Automatic trans slipping?
O2 sensors are tune up parts that are never changed when the tune up is done.
