America's most scenic dump?
My town claims to have the most scenic dump in America. I don't know about that, but there is some nice scenery close by. I parked close by the dump and walked along an old jeep road. (because it's closed to vehicles now) Where I found these petroglyph panels, I had heard there were some in the area, but I have not visited them before today. Then I walked to the end of the old jeep road to the overlook of Mill Creek. Up stream a little ways is our local swimming hole. This is only about a mile from my house.

Someday I'm gonna have to haul my rig out there....
Re: America's most scenic dump?
Nice pics. Love the petroglyphs. I did some work for the Forest Service involving the location of some. Turns out that was the tip of the iceberg. This summer I am going on a quest to find the majority of over 2000 located nearby. It is my new found hobby. So thanks again
Re: America's most scenic dump?
There are so many petroglyphs around here, I am always amazed. Almost any nice rock that has desert varnish seems to have rock art. If I am home and can make it this summer I will hike up to the Solstice Snake panel. It is so Cool a petroglyph of a large snake with a dagger through its head that only appears for a few minutes on the summer solstice. Then the dagger fades away but the snake is still there.
