1st if your not a A/C certified, and dont have the right tools, and r12 recovery unit, take it to a shop that specializes in A/C
they will recovery the r12, and and at the same time test for leaks or any warn parts in the system, these places usually make up there own custom lines and are alittle cheeper on your pocket book than, buying from the steelership.
after all is fixed up, they will put the new stuff in and make sure it is at the right pressure.
some guys think buying the upgrade kit and the refill cans with the pressure gauges at a local parts store is the fix (not)
now if your talking a real A/C upgrade, try something like I did,- haha

it might be overkill, but its my overkill- haha
I did the retro fit from the parts store it's alot cheaper and easier (not the proper way) just two adapters and add the cans. this is my second summer with it and it hasn't failed me yet.
