Do you mean where in Israel?
The pictures were taken in the Arod river (yes, I know, no water there :) )
Tzinifim river and "Zik"

Very nice Saar. Kudos to the guy with the old wagon too. The river must run in the rainy season? Also must be some water underground for all those trees?
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
During the winter there are few days of rain there, yes.
I guess that is enough for that kind of trees.

I see the roof rack is working well Saar. That silt looks kind of slick.
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
Nice pictures, I love the desert. But I'm wondering what is the black cylinder on the roof rack? Also what were the temperatures getting up to during the hottest time of day? And do the nights cool off pretty good there?
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
Yes, the roof rack works great and the silt was "kind of slick" - actually, it is a very scary one... (you can see in the background of the video, how many times my daughter falls and so is my wife ;) )
The black cylinder on the roof is a 21L water tank (~5 gallons?) .
During the day, in that time of the year, it was ~30-35C at night it drops down to 12-15c
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
That is very interesting silt you have. I imagine it is really wicked if it is wet. Are you heating the water in the black tank, or is it just black because it is black?
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
It is black because it is black :)
For heating water, I prefer my coleman dual fuel ;)
When it is wet, it is not a nice place to be... I did that 6 years ago, I won't forget it (actually, I was trying to go up there that time, and it start raining while I'm "fighting" the top step there, not fun. I had to drive it backwards all the way down. scary.)
Bottom line, when it is raining, we are not going there...
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
Kind of what I thought. I think that would be considered highly technical when wet and need lockers and such. We carry minimum of 2.5 gal water. It can be bought in convenient containers like that here. My well water tastes kind of bad. I have thought of using the Jeep to pump water out of creeks or lakes and heating it for showers. Different than your terrain for sure, but here in the mountains a black container ends up in the shade and will not heat water much.
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
That silt looks a lot like the "moon dust" we had in Afghanistan....it would get calf-deep at times.
Re: Few pictures from our latest Jeep Trip in the Israeli desert
I haven't been in Afghanistan, but yes, it is something like that...
