Driveline angles. CV vs conventional
I thought I knew all I needed to know about driveline/pinion angles. ran across this graphic that explains there is a different alignment process for CV and standard joint shafts. Additionally, the shaft with more joints appears to be more finnicky than a standard stock shaft. I've got a couple 4* shims I plan to install in the next month or so as I get geared up for offroad season. Curious what you guys thought about this. Never seen it explained this way

essentially, if the angle at the tail housing doesn't closely match the pinion angle, could be a source of vibrations and they are not "in phase". So shimming the rear axle removes some angle and you can't shim the TC to get the same similar angle.

I'm still running a 2 joint shaft that's been extended to work with my SYE. Guess I won't be shimming the rear.

Interesting.. I should really check my angles
