Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
Hero started right up and purrs like a kitten. That made me real happy:) My buddy Toyota Mike and I had a quick look over and right away noticed it needs a new manifold gasket it needs a bunch of body work the passenger side rockers are bad and the base of the doors. Some door panels missing the latch is buggered up on the passenger side needs new leafs and a drive shaft u joint in the back.
Tomorrow I'm going to go over every square inch of him with a fine tooth comb and figure out everything that needs to be fixed. Oh and not to mention 0 lift and 31"s the tires are in great shap nice mudders. Could hear the tires rubbing as it was backing out the drive way.
I'll update with pics and a repair list tomorrow :)
Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
Looking forward to this build

Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
Very interested! What's the long-term plan for it? Fix and flip, or fix and keep? Off-roader as well, or daily driver?
Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
Off road or daily driver I haven't made a choice yet. He is another 99 by the way. Don't like coil packs they aren't cheap to replace.
For now I have to just do the basics so I can get him safetied, emissions tested and on the road to omfg wtf is a clutch!
For safety:
Floor pans and rockers
Exhaust manifold gasket.(also emissions)
Rear drive shaft u joint at the diff
Gas tank strap
Everything else is good enough to pass.
Emissions:
Run on premium gas for a week lol
Add a bottle of guarantied to pass 2 days b4 clean out iac and throttle body.
Spark plugs, wires, rotor, dis. Cap
I suppose when an exhaust leak = instant fail I should probably think about putting in a muffler lol! There is a void from the cat back! Sounds bad ass!
All that should make it pass emissions I do all that every 2 years to dirty girl and she always passes with flying colours.
Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
The other things:
Head gasket, oil filter adapter gasket, oil pan gasket. The np321 is a bit drippy so I'll have to crack that... Give me some more.. Crack that oh oh oh...
Change all the fluids :) lubrication makes the world go round .. Oh yeah the damn doors I'll have to address that there aren't any of the mechanisms I. The passengers side front or back or the hatch and the hatch panel and rear passengers panel are missing. It poured rain a little earlier and I noticed that the d.s. seat was wet when I came up stairs. :/
The worst part is going to be fixing all the rust. I ordered front floor pans yesterday. I haven't taken out the seats and carpet yet to see the extent of the rot from the top side I'll probably tackle that during the week.
There are some more minor spots by the back windows and a hole in the roof on one side. And a bunch of spots here and there. The stock rack looks like its seen better days lol I'll be taking that off and fixing any rust under it.
Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
Ok,
So it's been a while! Sorry!!! Eh!!!
Poor hero has been sitting in my garage all this time! I haven't done to much to him he has no seats or carpet everything is gone and he is waiting to be prepped for the floors to be done. All I've managed to do is take parts off him and use them on my red jeep, Dirty girl!

^^^ that's her!!
I'm up in the air about this jeep it need a lot of body work and I hate body work. I don't know if I wanna just strip it for parts and then get another one that will be easier to get e tested and safetied. I'm not making any decisions now, I'm not putting any money into it for the time being because I'm saving all my money for my trip to California this winter. I'm gonna deal with it when I get back! I'll decide then what I am going to do either commence work January 6 or strip and scrap! :)
Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
Body work, what body work?
Re: "hero" a jeepacorn build
I can't have rotted floors and rockers for the safety
