Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
It sounds like you need a wobble extention. They are not as difficult as a universal joint adapter to use. One thing that helps is using a breaker bar insted of a ratchet.
Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
I use spark plugs sockets with the ujoint built into it. You have to support the pivot end of the ratchet with one hand while you pull with the other.
Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
I just used a universal with an extension to do mine about a week back, and it seemed to work fine for me..
Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
Yeah Patrick a wobble socket plus a extension should do the trick.
Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
When using a u-joint, try wrapping a piece of electrical tape around the u-joint. Makes it much easier to control. The tape will not hinder the flexibility of the u-joint. Learned this little trick when I was a service mechanic.
Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
I just did mine last week. I put my sparkplug socket on 1st then I was able to just barely get my extension on it. I had the most trouble removing the plugwire from #1.
Re: cylinder 6 spark plugs
thanks everyone, yea i had the most trouble with a few of the ignition wires, read: sheared them off terribly
