Front Driveshaft and yoke
I'm in the process of removing my front driveshaft to replace the pinion seal that has a leak I noticed to things, one is my driveshaft at the slip yoke has some play and will need repair the other is my yoke on my HP 30 can be turned some and feels like it has some very small play. Should I be able to turn the yoke on the axle some with it on the ground or is there a problem? Can the driveshaft slip yoke be rebuilt or do I need to make a trip to the junk yard?
Re: Front Driveshaft and yoke
You cannot rebuild the slip yoke. When they are worn out, they are toast. And yes there will be a small amount of rotational play

Thanks Steve. I was wanting to hit the junkyard anyways and this just gives me a good excuse to go.
